Anyone who doesn’t have healthcare coverage through a job, Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Plan, or certain other qualifying coverage can get it through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Open enrollment ends December 15, 2017, for coverage beginning January 1, 2018. Learn more at healthcare.gov.
Is there a reason TAR or NAR has not put together a health insurance plan since that is now allowed? It would be the single best member benefit ever.
NAR and TAR have explored health insurance plans for REALTORS® but have found it not to be economically feasible for members.
If you’re referring to the Oct 12 executive order on health care, please know that it does not apply to independent contractors. NAR put together an explanation here: http://www.nar.realtor/insurance/health-care-reform/nar-issue-brief-health-care-executive-order.
Also, NAR offers an insurance marketplace for you to assess various health care options: http://www.nar.realtor/realtor-benefits-program/personal-insurance/realtors-insurance-marketplace.
Can any Realtors currently with a good provider recommend them here?
Thank you.
